The word feminism is a term that has been frequently mentioned in recent years, both in politics and in various areas of culture. But few people know about feminism or feminist Art, and even fewer people know about feminist artists in Asia. Therefore, it is necessary to study feminist Asian artists. This paper will list three to five Asian feminist artists and analyze their works. Feminist Art first emerged during the anti-war demonstrations and civil rights movement of the late 1960s, when feminists aspired to intervene through Art. According to feminist artist Suzanne Lacy, the goal of feminist Art is to "influence cultural attitudes and change stereotypes[ “A Guide to the Feminist Art Movement,” Rise Art, accessed January 26, 2022, https://www.riseart.com/guide/2418/guide-to-the-feminist-art-movement.]. In what has been called the first wave of feminist art, women artists reveled in the female experience, exploring vaginal images and menstrual blood, posing nude as goddesses, and provocatively using the medium of embroidery, which was considered "women's work. One of the great iconic works of this phase of feminist Art is Judy Chicago's Dinner Party, 1974-9. Later feminist artists rejected this approach and sought to reveal the origins of our ideas about femininity and female identity. They pursued the notion of femininity as a masquerade - a series of poses that women adopt to conform to society's expectations of femininity[ Tate, “Feminist Art – Art Term,” Tate, accessed January 26, 2022, https://www.tate.org.uk/art/art-terms/f/feminist-art.]. And the leading famous feminist artists in Asia are Li Xinmo， Liu Xi， Yu Hong, Cui Xiwen[ NüVoices, “How Women Artists Are Navigating China’s Complex Feminist Landscape,” July 20, 2020, https://nuvoices.com/2020/07/20/how-women-artists-are-navigating-chinas-complex-feminist-landscape/.].  In short, feminism is an evolving artistic movement. It has had different meanings at times, and various artists have given it additional content. I will then explore the different understandings of feminism by various Asian artists through the artists' works.at different times, and different artists have given it different content.

Xu Bing is a pioneering Chinese contemporary artist. He creates powerful, poignant mixed media installations in which he subverts systems of language while evoking and subverting centuries-old Chinese cultural traditions such as calligraphy, woodblock printing, and landscape scrolls. He explains that his works "all have one thing in common, and that is the construction of some kind of barrier to people's habitual ways of thinking - what he calls the 'cognitive structure' of the mind. The artist asks the viewer to consider how our cultural contexts, especially those shaped by language, fundamentally color our worldview.  By analyzing Xu Bing's artworks, one can see how the artist uses and subverts traditional culture to change the viewers' perception.
